Dr. E’leva Hughes Gibson is an educational leader who is lifting the field of education to another level! She is committed to strengthening partnerships that support children and families, building systems that serve “each and every" child, providing access to high quality services and supports, and developing innovative solutions. She has worked in public education for over 25 years, spanning PK-12 and higher education, and has served communities with varied cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Dr. Gibson has a wealth of experience, which enables her to effectively guide and manage educational institutions, schools, and organizations. In the public sector, she served as a teacher, coach, school administrator, an adjunct professor, a department supervisor, director, an executive director, an assistant superintendent, and a commissioner. Additionally, as a product of public schools and a parent navigating the education system, she has a deep understanding of public education and its potential.
Working collaboratively with schools, colleges, local government agencies, labor partners, and community-based organizations, Dr. Gibson has created programs, developed strategic plans, implemented initiatives, addressed systemic issues, and has developed an individualized learning plan (ILP) template that has been adopted, adapted, and scaled out as an effective tool across districts. She is dedicated to closing the opportunity gap and achievement gap, providing educational opportunities for 21st century learning, cultivating authentic partnerships, and serving the “whole child.”
